A lively bouquet of red, pink, yellow and deep purple tulips fills the centre of this original still-life painting by Mathias. The flowers rise from a tall transparent glass vase, surrounded by an apple, a yellow citron and a vivid red cup. Against the softly layered blue background, these familiar objects create a colourful domestic scene shaped by light, rhythm and everyday pleasure.
The composition balances movement and stability. The tulip stems spread outward in different directions, giving every flower its own position and character, while the vertical vase provides a clear visual anchor. The fruit and red cup form a second, lower rhythm across the tabletop, adding warmth and narrative detail without competing with the bouquet.
Mathias builds the image through visible brushwork, layered acrylic paint and freely shaped areas of colour. The tulips are recognisable but not precisely outlined; their petals emerge through energetic strokes, contrasting highlights and small changes in red, yellow, orange and violet. Reflections within the glass vase, the richly painted tabletop and the broken marks in the blue background reinforce the tactile, impressionistic character of the work.
The deep green wooden frame provides a strong visual counterpoint to the flowers and connects naturally with their stems and leaves. Paint extends irregularly from the canvas onto the frame, softening the traditional boundary between the image and its presentation. The frame is permanently integrated into the artwork and forms part of the finished composition.
The canvas is permanently mounted onto a 6 mm board made from natural hardwood and set within an integrated pinewood frame approximately 3 cm wide. The total dimensions, including the frame, are 47 × 37 cm, with a depth of 2 cm. The surface is protected with varnish. The original painting is signed by Mathias and ready to hang.
This colourful horizontal still life brings warmth, energy and a relaxed artistic atmosphere into a dining room, kitchen, living area or creative workspace. It is intended for collectors who appreciate floral art with visible handwork and personality, and who prefer an original interpretation of everyday objects to a conventional decorative arrangement.
